Enjoy a short cultural and coastal excursion to Tanjung Balau Fishing Village, located just 15 minutes from Desaru Coast. Your guide will pick you up directly from your hotel lobby before heading to this traditional fishing community along Johor’s eastern shoreline.
The highlight of the visit is the Tanjung Balau Fishermen Museum, the only museum in Malaysia dedicated to the heritage and lifestyle of the country’s traditional fishing communities. Situated within a former fishing village, the museum showcases authentic fishing equipment, maritime artifacts, and beautifully crafted traditional boats from the east coast states of Kelantan and Terengganu.
After exploring the museum, continue to the nearby coastal boardwalk where your guide will introduce the unique geological formations, coastal vegetation, and natural features that shape the shoreline of Tanjung Balau.
Following the tour, you may stop for lunch at your own expense before returning to your hotel. Recommended restaurants within the Desaru area include Bujang Floating Restaurant, Payung Restaurant, and Nelayan Seafood by the Coast.
